Accountant The position of Accountant is responsible for working with every department within the company. This position will report to the Controller. Location: Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado; this position will work in our office. What You’ll Do: Enter vendor invoices and credit card transactions to appropriate accounts, projects and regions. Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies. Enter ACH and check deposits into Foundation accounting software. Deposit checks using remote deposit. Prepare month-end closing journals for prepaids and depreciation. Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies. Assist Controller with maintaining depreciation schedules by adding and disposing of assets. Prepare and distribute weekly job cost and management reports. Assist Controller with year-end close and preparing for the yearly review with outside CPA firm. Create new vendor accounts, obtaining proper documentation to include W9 and COI when applicable. Pay vendors by monitoring vendor credit limits, due dates, utilizing discount opportunities and available credits. Prepare and file annual 1099s. Maintain historical records by scanning in and filing documents. Maintain vendor files and database – paper and electronic. Sort mail, scan and distribute, as needed. Other administration tasks as needed. What We Need: 2-5 years of accounting experience. Strong Excel spreadsheet skills. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent organizational and motivational skills. Outstanding attention to detail. Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Advanced knowledge of office machinery and cellular devices including computer, copier, tablet and cell phone. Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to acquire one upon employment. Preferred Background & Experience: Experience in forestry and/or construction industry. Experience with job costing. Experience with Foundation Accounting System and Bid2Win software suite. What We Offer: Paid vacation, sick time and holidays.
