The business serves customers around the world by making it easier to solve their grocery needs. Whether it’s online or in-person, multiple brands (Amazon.com, Amazon Go, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and others), and different shopping missions, we are passionate about making grocery shopping more convenient for customers.

Key job responsibilities
You will be an integral part of the business teams you support, serving as counsel on a broad range of matters, including: (1) working closely with internal business clients to advise on complex legal and regulatory issues, (2) support new technology and product and feature launches, (3) provide subject matter expertise on marketing, regulatory, privacy, and compliance issues, and (4) partnering with cross-functional teams in Legal, Public Policy, and PR to advise on innovative grocery offerings.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, and enjoy working hard, being challenged, and operating in a team-oriented environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners.
- Prior experience engaging with federal or state regulators.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
- Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business leaders.
- Ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
