Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute comprehensive quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding across various facilities.
• Conduct routine and policy-driven coding audits to guarantee adherence to established guidelines.
• Support coding staff in complying with national standards and company policies through insightful audits and targeted feedback.
• Utilize your advanced knowledge of medical coding to identify improvement opportunities and educate coding staff accordingly.
• Engage in special projects focused on continuous quality improvement.
• Adhere to productivity and accuracy benchmarks, maintaining standards of 95% or higher.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest coding standards, guidelines, and educational requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

• Certifications: CCS, RHIA, and/or RHIT (required).
• 10+ years of experience in hospital medical coding, with a minimum of 3 years as an auditing professional for MS-DRG Inpatient records.
• Extensive expertise as an IP Coding Auditor with advanced MS-DRG auditing skills.
• Experience in coding across all body systems without limitation to specialty areas.
• In-depth understanding of official coding guidelines and hospital compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred).
• Experience in special quality review projects or process improvement initiatives.
• Background in supporting multi-site health systems or large coding review teams.
• Proficiency with remote collaboration tools and teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous education and professional development in medical coding.
