About the Role
The Company is seeking a Department Chair for Political Science. The successful candidate will be the chief representative and leader of the department, responsible for setting and meeting enrollment, retention, and graduation projections. This role involves supervising faculty and staff, scheduling courses, and creating and approving departmental goals in line with the university's mission. The Department Chair will also be involved in faculty evaluation, tenure, and promotion, as well as maintaining an active research agenda and teaching two courses each semester. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in political science or a related field, a strong research background, and a commitment to the values of the institution. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a diverse faculty and student body, and a proactive approach to departmental and university policies. The Department Chair will also be expected to engage in professional development, expand the department's programs, and ensure the department's participation in student recruitment efforts.
