On behalf of our client, a Los Angelesbased premium lifestyle brand, we are seeking a mid-level corporate attorney to support a broad range of day-to-day legal matters. This role involves negotiation of commercial contracts, product endorsement and non-disclosure agreements, as well as supply and manufacturing agreements. It is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in handling a wide spectrum of legal issues within a fast-paced, high-growth consumer brand.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, negotiate, and manage execution of a wide array of commercial agreements, including endorsement agreements, independent contractor agreements, modeling agency contracts, partnership arrangements, and vendor/supplier agreements.
- Coordinate with legal support staff to ensure proper execution and storage of all contracts.
- International Operations: Partner with business teams to identify legal requirements in new jurisdictions.
- Assist with entity formation and liaise with local counsel as needed.
- Policy Development: Work with internal teams to develop, implement, and review company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and industry best practices.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all contracts and legal documents align with internal processes and legal requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, finance, creative, marketing, and other business partners to address contract-related questions and provide strategic guidance.
- Oversee relationships with external legal service providers and ensure service quality and consistency with company expectations.
- Other Responsibilities: Support various Legal Department projects as needed; proactively expand expertise in new subject areas as the business grows.
Qualifications
- J.D. from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to the California Bar preferred
- Minimum of five years of transactional experience, including big law and in-house background
- Experience in retail or e-commerce is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to explain legal concepts in clear, accessible terms to non-legal teams
- Willingness to take initiative and work flexible hours as needed
