Summary

The Data Analyst supports the data analysis and reporting efforts of Newcomb-Tulane College. This position develops, maintains, and optimizes Power BI dashboards and reports to support data-informed decision-making across academic and student services units. The Data Analyst supports Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) reporting needs. This position is responsible for the Career Services First Destination Survey data gathering and analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Excellent quantitative analysis skills, attention to detail and the ability to think strategically. Demonstrated ability to use technology to gather, interpret, organize and present data.
• Knowledge of tools and techniques for collecting, synthesizing and analyzing data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrate experience in Microsoft Excel, including use of Excel formulas and functionality to organize and analyze data.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information and material in a discretionary manner.
• Ability to understand business processes and identify the data needed to support the business processes.
• Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously to accommodate shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Education And/or Experience

• Bachelors Degree with 1 year of experience gathering, preparing, and analyzing data.

OR

• High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 7 years of experience gathering, preparing, and analyzing data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Education, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience working with relational databases with multiple tables.
• Experience with database management, analysis, and database visualization and reporting tools, specifically Power BI.
• Experience with Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology.
