The Data Foreman (Supervisor) at ALTEN Technology USA leads and coordinates a team of 20-30 data collectors and annotators, ensuring high-quality data collection and annotation workflows for advanced engineering projects. They oversee project tracking, quality control, documentation, and technical troubleshooting while serving as the main liaison between the team and research management. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in data systems, and hands-on involvement in data operations on robotic platforms.

As the
Data Foreman (Supervisor) , manage and coordinate a team of 20-30 data collectors and annotators, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing workflow processes while serving as the primary point of contact for annotator and data collection staff to the research team and greater org.
Required Skills: - Lead a team of Data Collection Operators and Annotators
- Collect data on our specific robotic platforms via teleoperation with an Apple Vision Pro
- Collect data in a motion capture setup, doing tasks with their own hands
- Monitor quality control processes across all data pipelines
- Manage project tracking systems (Jira/Asana) for team task assignment
- Create data validation reports for management to make decisions based one statistical results
- Ensure proper version control and documentation practices
- Maintain detailed documentation of data collection processes and outcomes
- Report any issues or anomalies encountered during data collection
- Oversee and validate data collection and annotation workflows
- Coordinate software updates and maintenance schedules
- Analyze team performance metrics and data quality indicators with manager Perform some simple annotations and quality control on the data they collect
Preferred Skills: - 3+ years of experience in data collection or annotation management
- Proven Lead/Manager experience managing 10+ people
- Experience running basic commands on a terminal
- Git - version control and changing to specifics branches as needed
- Docker - understanding of basic usage
- tmux - ability to navigate and use comfortably
- SSH/SCP - needed for collecting and retrieving data
- Great attention to detail
- Generally good coordination skills/dexterity
- General strength/health to collect data for a few hours in a row (breaks are encouraged, but it can still be tiring)
- Good vision (doesn't need glasses) or can wear contacts (in order to operate the Apple Vision Pro)
- Technical troubleshooting capabilities
Bonus points for: - Experience in a SIM Environment
- Experience operating robots
- Experience with data collection or annotations
- Experience with ROS2
- Strong understanding of 6S methodology and processes to improve and maintain workspace organization
Salary Range: - $75,000 - 100,000
- The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
