Direct Hire Director of Pharmacy Role $180,000-$200,000 per year in Modesto, California
Clinical Magnet (part of ICON Medical) is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead the pharmacy team in the Modesto, California area.
This is a DIRECT HIRE, full-time leadership opportunity.
Responsibilities of the Director of Pharmacy:
Provide leadership and oversight of the pharmacy department at a 50-bed hospital , serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the CEO
Oversee all aspects of the pharmacy department, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management
Provide direct pharmacist coverage while also leading and mentoring the pharmacy team
Ensure compliance with California Pharmacy Laws, state/federal regulations, and hospital policies
Maintain safe and effective medication management practices, including oversight of Pyxis dispensing systems
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees as needed
Provide on-call support for after-hours needs (Pyxis-related or coverage gaps)
Qualifications of the Director of Pharmacy:
Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of California
Strong leadership experience within a hospital pharmacy setting
Familiarity with California Pharmacy Laws and regulatory compliance
Ability to balance administrative responsibilities with clinical pharmacist duties
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Compensation and Benefits for the Director of Pharmacy:
$180,000 – $200,000 annually, based on experience
$15,000 sign-on bonus (paid out over 2 years)
Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (with some weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities as needed)
