Job Description

Cobalt is building the next-generation AI agent-based integration platform for software companies in the USA. Many custom connectors must be developed for enterprises using legacy software like Oracle, SAP, Snowflake, and others. We're addressing this using AI.

Cobalt was founded by Jugal Anchalia & Abhishek Kumar, who sold their previous startup to Netmeds; they have also been featured in Forbes 30 under 30. They have experience at organizations such as Nomura, JioMart, InstaMojo, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee. We are funded by marquee investors, including Eniac Ventures, Tidal Ventures, Karman Ventures, Ahead VC & Better Capital.

We are building our founding team and are looking for folks who are excited about learning and meaningfully shaping the trajectory of an early-stage startup from Day 0 in its journey.

Role Summary:

Director of Sales who will operate hands-on as the first quota-carrying seller for 12-18 months before scaling a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Forecasting: Actively contribute to the U.S. enterprise sales plan, segmentation, territories, quota, and compensation models; deliver accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts to founders and board.
  • Deal Execution: Close multi-stakeholder, six- to seven-figure SaaS deals (>$100K ACV) with CTO, CPTO, VP Engineering at integration intensive software vendors.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Product & PMM to refine ICP, shape enablement, and feed win/loss insights back into roadmap.
  • Metrics : Own net-new ARR and deal velocity; deliver accurate commit vs. forecast delta < 10 %

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive B2B enterprise-software sales experience, including 5+ years in a front-line or second-line leadership role.
  • Track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals into enterprise software vendors or ISVs > $500 k ACV
  • Demonstrated success as the first or early sales hire taking revenue from $0 → $10 M+ ARR
  • Deep familiarity with MEDDICC or similar qualification frameworks and modern revenue tooling (Hubspot, Zoominfo, Sales Navigator etc.)
  • Strong executive-presence and negotiation skills; able to articulate AI and integration value to both technical and C-suite audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or technical master’s a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network of enterprise buyers and partners in the integration or iPaaS ecosystem.
  • Experience selling via cloud marketplaces (AWS, Azure, GCP) and collaborating with GSIs or ISVs.
  • Background in usage-based SaaS pricing and product-led-growth assist motions.
