The Role

We’re looking for a performance-driven and analytically sharp Head of User Acquisition to own and scale Outlier’s paid growth strategy across multiple channels.

This is a leadership and executional role focused entirely on top-of-funnel growth—bringing new users into the product through measurable, scalable, and cost-effective paid acquisition campaigns.

You’ll be responsible for testing and optimizing our channel mix, managing media spend, and reporting on performance. You should have deep experience buying across Meta, TikTok, and Snap, as well as programmatic platforms (AppLovin, DSPs), and ideally some familiarity with CTV and/or traditional media buys.

This role reports directly to the CEO and will work closely with our Head of Marketing to align acquisition efforts with conversion and subscriber lifecycle goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creative Strategy & Testing : Source, launch, and iterate on high-performing ad creative based on testing and feedback.
  • Own the Paid Growth Strategy : Define, execute, and optimize a multi-channel paid acquisition strategy.
  • Media Buying & Channel Management : Manage and scale paid campaigns across digital and emerging platforms.
  • Performance Analytics : Build reports and dashboards to measure CAC, CPI, ROAS, LTV:CAC, etc.
  • Budget Management : Set, manage, and report on acquisition budgets across channels.
  • Landing Page & Funnel Optimization : Work cross-functionally with Head of Marketing to optimize conversion rates.
  • Experimentation & Growth Loops : Test new channels, creative formats, and offers to find scalable growth.
  • Agency/Partner Management : Oversee relationships with advertising affiliate networks to drive traffic and UA agencies or freelancers to produce high-converting ad creative.
  • Collaboration : Align efforts with the Head of Marketing to ensure continuity across the funnel.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have

  • 8+ years experience managing paid acquisition at a B2C subscription company or consumer app.
  • Proven track record scaling spend across digital acquisition channels including Meta, TikTok, Snap, Google, Apple Search, and others.
  • Strong analytical skills and performance reporting capabilities.
  • Experience managing 7+-figure ad budgets.
  • Deep understanding of mobile attribution and app install tracking (e.g., SKAN, MMPs like AppsFlyer or Adjust)
  • Experience onboarding, incentivizing, and managing advertising affiliate network partners.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally across product, data, and creative teams.
  • A test and learn mindset and creative judgment.
  • Strategic thinker with executional rigor.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in sports, fantasy, or sports betting space.
  • Familiarity with SQL or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Mode).
  • Experience with influencer-paid media hybrids or whitelisting strategies.
  • Exposure to CTV or traditional media buying.
  • Comfort contributing to creative asset development.
  • Competency interfacing with platform policy teams (e.g., Meta Policy Team)
