Job Title : Reach Truck Operator
Department : Warehouse/Logistics
Reports To : Warehouse Supervisor/Logistics Manager


Job Summary:


The Reach Truck Operator is responsible for operating a reach truck to move and stack pallets in a safe and efficient manner within a warehouse or distribution center. The role involves managing the movement of goods and materials within a designated area, ensuring inventory is stored properly and can be easily accessed when needed.


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate reach trucks to safely move and stack materials and products in the warehouse.
• Load, unload, and transport materials to and from storage areas, docks, and production areas.
• Ensure goods are stored in the correct locations to optimize warehouse space and safety.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring products are properly labeled and stored.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on the reach truck to ensure it's in safe working order.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock organization as needed.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse team members and supervisors regarding inventory, orders, and stock levels.
• Report any malfunctions or safety hazards related to equipment and materials.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by organizing stock and materials.

Qualifications:

• Valid reach truck (or forklift) certification is required.
• Previous experience operating reach trucks is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, with the capability to work at heights (as reach truck operation often requires elevated access).
• Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse processes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Comfort with working in a warehouse environment, including potential exposure to temperature variations.
