Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our team, this is an initial 12 months contract but is likely to extend. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in data and analytics, with exposure to Microsoft Azure’s data services and tools. This role will support data engineering initiatives, assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines, and help troubleshoot and ensure the quality of data solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of data pipelines and solutions using Microsoft Azure data services.
• Support the design and implementation of data flows across various systems and applications.
• Collaborate with senior data engineers and analysts to deliver efficient and scalable data models and reports.
• Troubleshoot issues and help optimize data performance and quality.
• Validate data solutions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
• Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and best practices in data engineering

Qualifications:

 

• At least 1 year of experience in Data & Analytics, including data modeling and reporting.
• Minimum 1 year of exposure to IT architecture and integration of data flows across systems and applications.
• Hands-on experience delivering data solutions using Microsoft Azure services such as:
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Data Lake
  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure SQL
  • SSIS
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
• Familiarity with ETL tools —preferably Azure Data Factory and/or Databricks.
• Basic experience with database scripting and data modeling .
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills .
• Good understanding of data validation and testing methodologies .
• Knowledge of Power BI and Azure Data Lakes is a strong plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills .
• A quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic understanding of cloud data architecture.
• Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments.
• Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals or similar is a plus
