Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Junior Software Developer in Herndon, VA, Melbourne, FL, or Aurora, CO to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. You will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.

The EMMETT program, a next-generation Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. The team uses programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this SDA I&W system.

What you'll do:

1. Provide TS/SCI Java software development of modules, including event-driven or state-driven programming, error logging, and exception handling.


2. Perform TS/SCI software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration services at various system levels.


3. Support all aspects of software engineering required to implement systems.


4. Adhere to open standards and modern software development methodologies, incorporating industry best practices where feasible.


5. Produce technical reports, white papers, and documentation to record software engineering activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• An Associate's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional four years of experience may substitute for a degree.


• Must possess a minimum TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or as requested by the customer.


• Proficiency in Java (Model, Entity, DTO, DAO).


• Experience with the Spring framework.


• Experience with JUnit, Remote Debugging (JDWP), and Spring MapStruct Annotations.


• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, REDIS.


• Experience working with Linux distributions and commands.


• Experience with messaging systems like ActiveMQ and Camel Route.


• Basic web application knowledge ( HTML, REST, WebSocket, CSS, JavaScript).


• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Gerrit/GIT.


• Familiarity with Microservices, Containerization, and Kubernetes.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python.


• Experience with web server configuration (NGINX, Apache).


• Knowledge of Bootstrap and Less.


• Experience with NiFi and developing data flows.


• Active or working towards a Security+ CE certification.

Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000, based on experience and other factors.
