Job Function:
Provide prescribed or emergency care to patients requiring professional nursing services, including venipuncture, dressing changes, straight catheterization, suctioning, and immunizations.
Teach and supervise family members, auxiliary nursing personnel, or others giving care through one-on-one instruction and educational in-services.
Perform diagnostic tests as authorized by the Primary Care provider (PCP) and obtain laboratory specimens when needed.
Provide treatment under medical direction and assess, evaluate, and report the patient's physical and emotional condition, reactions to medications, treatments, or critical laboratory results.
Maintain up-to-date patient records and report pertinent patient information to the physician.
Job Requirements:
2 years of RN experience.
Active New York State Registered Nurse license.
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Proficiency in IV insertion, EKG monitoring, and phlebotomy.
2 years of administrative experience in a management capacity in a certified home health agency (CHHA), long-term home health care (LHCSA), acute care, medical-surgical, critical care, nursing home experience, or diagnostic & treatment clinic preferred.
