Overview Marketing Lead, Sports at Whatnot. Role focuses on delivering best-in-class marketing for sports cards and collectibles, owning industry-defining initiatives and driving growth. This position requires deep understanding of customer profiles in the sports card category and the ability to shape the category narrative. Responsibilities Define the strategy for sports marketing and develop big-bet initiatives designed to break through at an industry level, in service of our company goals Own the end-to-end planning and execution of our largest marketing initiatives, including our brand presence at The National and Whatnot Card show Develop and manage relationships with industry-level leaders, from influencers, sellers, manufacturers and other key partners Manage a high performing team responsible for owning buyer acquisition, including devising product release moments, campaigns and events that generate community buzz & grow demand Monitor, understand and report on demand-side performance as well as measure the efficacy of the work that moves these metrics You 8+ years of experience in category marketing or sports marketing with proficiency in managing demand-side business, including defining & tracking growth KPIs Expertise in developing industry-defining campaigns that deliver impact for the brand and the bottom line Experience owning IRL and event experiences linked to business impact Experience and interest in working with influencers, creators & other industry partners within the sports card space Immersion in internet culture and ability to market to communities Strong program management, people management skills and ability to lead a high-performing team Proficiency with storytelling using data and ability to use data analytics tools to compile needed insights Experience at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform Scrappy and flexible to work in a fast-paced startup environment with limited guidance; comfortable pivoting quickly Benefits Flexible Time off Policy and Company-wide Holidays (including a spring and winter break) Health Insurance options including Medical, Dental, Vision Work From Home Support Home office setup allowance Monthly allowance for cell phone and internet Care benefits Monthly allowance for wellness Annual allowance towards Childcare Lifetime benefit for family planning, such as adoption or fertility expenses Retirement; 401k offering for Traditional and Roth accounts in the US (employer match up to 4% of base salary) and Pension plans internationally Monthly allowance to dogfood the app All Whatnauts are expected to develop a deep understanding of our product and use Whatnot as both a buyer and a seller as part of their job Parental Leave 16 weeks of paid parental leave + one month gradual return to work Other details Base pay range: $170,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr Location: Team members are expected to be within commuting distance of San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York hubs.
