Offshore Safety Medic job at Safety Management Systems, Lafayette, LA. Provides efficient pre-hospital Advanced, Intermediate, and Basic Life Support care to the sick and injured offshore and in industrial environments, adhering to local, state, national, international, and SMS standards. Offers professional services in radio communications, safety education, health and safety compliance, clerical records, and reporting, along with other responsibilities on offshore or industrial projects. Duties: Medical Meet and fulfill the medical qualifications and responsibilities of an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic. Document all patient condition and treatment details on EMS run reports, including non-medical patient information as required. Conduct regular inventory and testing of medical equipment to ensure functionality and cleanliness. Report and coordinate repairs of medical equipment as necessary. Examine patients for signs of illness or injury and assist medical personnel as needed. Provide prompt life support care during transport to medical facilities. After transport, ensure sick bay and equipment are ready for use. Follow FCC regulations for electronic communications. Administer patient care within licensure or certification limits and approved protocols. Attend mandatory meetings and complete workstation duties. Order supplies and assist with safety inspections, safety meetings, and training. Conduct orientation for new employees and visitors, and assist with USCG & MMS inspections. Maintain records, prepare reports, and handle communications and manifest preparations. Participate in safety drills and coordinate materials and personnel as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Duties: Safety Attend and document pre-shift safety meetings. Perform and document stop-work actions, hazard hunts, and safety observations. Prepare safety reports and verify contractor compliance with safety programs. Monitor safety targets and assist in contractor evaluations. Ensure contractors have necessary safety training (H2S, Well control, Hazcom). Review contractor JSAs weekly and participate in incident investigations. Communicate safety expectations and document incidents and near misses, assisting in corrective actions. Additional safety skills include conducting safety observations, recognizing proper PPE use, assisting with accident investigations, performing NORM readings, inspecting fall harnesses and scaffolding, and understanding lifting, hoisting, rigging, and confined space procedures. Required offshore safety experience and training, with preferred offshore construction experience. Knowledge of NORM meters, gas detectors, permit-to-work, and hot work procedures is essential.
