Part-Time Faculty - Health Information Management 6 months ago Be among the first 25 applicants Title: Part-Time Faculty – Health Information Management Employee Classification: Part-Time Faculty Institution: Columbia State Community College Campus Location: Columbia State Community College Job Summary: Part-time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Classes are also offered at several off-campus locations and clinical sites. Minimum Qualifications: Hold a Master's degree or higher with a major in Health Information Management, Public Health, Information Systems, Medical Informatics, or a related field. Or hold an AAS degree or higher AND certification in RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CPC, or have a minimum of one year experience in the field. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching Experience Higher Education Experience Special Instructions to Applicants: Submit a transcript and a resume/CV to be considered. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially; official transcripts are required upon hire. Applicants may be subject to a background check. Re-application is necessary each calendar year. Salary is $560 per credit hour, with workload adjustments for classes exceeding contact hours, and a possible travel stipend for travel over 80 miles weekly. Part-Time Faculty Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare for courses and adhere to syllabi and student learning outcomes. Begin and end classes as scheduled. Organize, assign, and supervise student learning activities. Maintain academic standards and classroom behavior. Evaluate students and communicate scores promptly. Keep accurate attendance and grade records. Respond to student inquiries via email timely. Meet all administrative deadlines.
