Process Engineer | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $73,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and production methods.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues impacting production yield, quality, and uptime.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
• Evaluate, select, and qualify new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
• Monitor key process indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure performance targets are met.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with process optimization methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with process control systems (DCS/SCADA) and/or simulation software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for advanced data analysis
• Experience with simulation software or advanced process modeling tools
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing automation, robotics, or IIoT technologies
• PMP or other formal project management certification
