Risk Manager (Contract-to-Hire) – Atlanta, GA

ASAP is hiring an experienced Risk Manager to support a high-profile infrastructure program in midtown Atlanta. This contract-to-hire role is perfect for professionals with proven expertise in risk management on major engineering and construction projects. You’ll be working on-site Monday through Thursday with remote work on Fridays. We’re seeking local candidates only, and C2C inquiries will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate risk identification workshops across multi-disciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the project risk register, ensuring risks are evaluated, quantified, and actively mitigated.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (QRA) and perform statistical analysis to inform risk trends and mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate with planners and project controls to link risk items to schedule activities and cost impacts.
  • Generate and present internal and external risk reports and dashboards to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Support the full risk management lifecycle: planning, monitoring, training, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Utilize tools such as Excel, Power BI, and project risk software (@Risk, PRA, ARM, or Acumen) to support analysis and reporting.
  • Align risk activities with corporate policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of experience in risk management.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in engineering and construction environments (project management, controls, procurement, etc.).
  • Prior experience supporting large capital projects ($100M+) is required.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative risk evaluation, including baselining, cost/schedule performance, and Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Strong facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with risk management software such as @Risk (Palisade), Active Risk Manager (ARM), Acumen, or Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills for executive-level presentations.
