Job Description

Job Summary:

The Saw Operator is responsible for operating saw equipment to cut, trim, and prepare lumber used in pallet repair and production. This role supports the pallet repair process by ensuring all wood components are accurately cut to size and meet quality standards. The position requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate band saws, chop saws, or table saws to cut and trim pallet boards to required dimensions.
• Inspect lumber for defects and ensure cuts meet repair specifications.
• Supply cut materials to pallet repair stations and assist in rebuilding as needed.
• Maintain saw blades and equipment; perform minor adjustments and cleaning.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep work area clean, organized, and free from debris.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Assist in general pallet repair, stacking, or sorting as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating saws or woodworking equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic measurements and ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment:

• Industrial warehouse setting with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving equipment.
• Requires use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
• May involve repetitive motions and physical labor.
