Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Azure Cloud & AI Engineer to join our team. This role is essential in overseeing our Azure cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on data engineering , process automation , and the practical implementation of AI tools (including Microsoft Copilots) and LLM-powered agents to drive business outcomes. Reporting to the SVP, Digital Innovation & Data Analytics, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building data pipelines, automating business workflows, and integrating enterprise platforms using modern Azure technologies — while also identifying opportunities to apply AI, including LLMs and autonomous agents , for improved efficiency, governance, and insight through chatbots, guided workflows, and intelligent process support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and manage Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for robust ETL processes.
• Develop automation workflows using Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate .
• Implement lightweight automation with Azure Functions for event-driven processing.
• Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database environments for efficient data storage and transformation.
• Develop and manage APIs and integrations using Azure Event Grid , Service Bus , and RESTful services.
• Identify and implement AI-driven tools and copilots (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) to enhance business processes and decision-making.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging for pipelines and cloud workflows using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics , and Application Insights .
• Ensure all cloud processes and data workflows adhere to security, compliance, and governance best practices , including identity management and access controls.
• Leverage Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or similar LLM platforms to build intelligent agents and bots for user assistance, knowledge management, and workflow enhancement.
• Develop and integrate AI-driven assistants or copilots that support end users by answering queries, automating tasks, and delivering proactive recommendations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where LLMs and AI agents can streamline or augment existing processes.

Preferred Skill Set:

• Proven experience with Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Power Automate , and custom Power Apps .
• Strong scripting and development skills in Python and PowerShell .
• Proficiency in SQL and Azure SQL .
• Familiarity with API development and integration (REST, GraphQL).
• Experience with workflow automation and integration with platforms like Salesforce, SharePoint, Microsoft Copilot , etc.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps , especially CI/CD pipelines for data and automation projects.
• Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure security principles, identity & access management , and governance frameworks .
• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, cognitive services, or other LLM-based platforms for building conversational bots, semantic search, or automated assistants.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, grounding techniques, and orchestrating multi-step tasks with AI agents.

Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud automation, or related IT roles.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services , especially Data Factory, Logic Apps, and Function Apps.
• Proven track record of building secure , scalable , and monitored cloud-based data solutions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with data teams , business stakeholders , and enterprise applications (e.g. Salesforce, SharePoint, Power Platform).
• Experience applying AI tooling (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services) to enhance operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of cloud governance , identity & access management , and CI/CD practices .
• Comfortable managing projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to cloud strategy and architecture.
