Overview:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Digital Communications, the Senior Digital Copywriter is responsible for proofreading, editing, and writing copy for various digital marketing collateral, including eblasts, social content, blog posts, and e-commerce pages. The Senior Digital Copywriter is expected to take full ownership of various projects and initiatives while also providing administrative and task management support to the Digital Copy Team within a reasonable scope.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Work across Digital Team to ensure digital communications are consistent, on-brand, and aligned with best practices
- Assist in writing, editing, proofreading, and filing all digital assets, including but not limited to eblasts, web ads, paid and organic social content, blog posts, and product copy
- Apply data and learnings to create engaging, digital-friendly content
- Fully own projects from concepting phrase to completion on an as-needed basis, including associated project management
- Help develop creative concepts for launches, promotions, and other campaigns
- Review copy provided or created by external partners to ensure it is accurate and on-brand
- Anticipate upcoming digital copy needs; work cross-functionally to keep projects moving smoothly
- Mentor and otherwise serve as a valuable resource to junior copywriters
- Contribute to team brainstorming sessions; stay current on beauty and consumer trends
- Work cross-functionally to learn from and support the Marketing, PR, and Education teams with written content as needed
- Collaborating with and supporting the marketing team for various copy needs, including but not limited to concepting, naming, building copy decks and tailoring collateral for various markets
- Routing and reviewing digital translations
- Updating the Moroccanoil Digital Style Guide and maintaining the Moroccanoil lexicon and other reference materials
- Following company policies in regards to OSHA
- Special projects and any others the Employer may consider essential in ensuring the normal operations of the Employer’s business processes and that falls into the category of expertise of the Employee
Skills & Abilities:
- University/college degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English or a similar field
- Combined 7+ years of writing and editing experience in the brand (beauty preferred but CPG acceptable) or advertising industries; editorial experience a plus
- Ability to sharply proofread and edit English copy
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Project management capabilities a plus
- Familiarity with industry best practices
