Senior Operations Manager - Polyurethane Foam Manufacturing

Position Overview: Lead manufacturing operations for polyurethane foam pouring facility, driving operational excellence, safety compliance, and quality standards while optimizing production efficiency and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

• Direct daily manufacturing operations
• Lead foam pouring processes and optimization
• Manage production scheduling
• Oversee quality control programs
• Drive safety initiatives
• Lead continuous improvement efforts

Technical Management

• Manage chemical processes and controls
• Direct material flow optimization
• Guide process improvements
• Ensure quality specifications
• Monitor equipment performance

Team Leadership

• Manage production supervisors
• Lead shift operations teams
• Develop team capabilities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
• 7+ years manufacturing experience
• 5+ years polyurethane/chemical manufacturing
• 3+ years management experience
• Strong technical understanding of PU processes
• Safety management experience
• Lean manufacturing knowledge

Technical Knowledge Required

Process Expertise:

• Polyurethane chemistry
• Foam pouring techniques
• Chemical handling
• Process control systems
• Quality testing methods
• Safety protocols

Equipment Knowledge:

• Mixing equipment
• Pouring systems
• Conveyor systems
• Curing processes
• Cutting equipment
• Testing equipment

Performance Metrics:

• Production output
• Quality metrics
• Efficiency rates
• Cost control
• Team development
• Scrap reduction
• Equipment uptime

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing facility
• Chemical exposure
• PPE requirements
• Various temperatures
• Standing/walking
• Shift coverage

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/walk extended periods
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Wear PPE consistently
• Navigate production floor
• Respond to emergencies
• Work in various conditions
