Role Overview

The Source and Recruit Company has been exclusively retained to assist Lavallee & Company in its search for a Senior Tax Accountant to join its team. This individual will play a pivotal role in preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns, managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and contributing to the overall leadership of the firm.

This position requires a CPA with strong public accounting experience and a proactive, client-first approach. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, small-firm environment and who is looking for a long-term career path with ownership potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and trust/estate tax returns
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, promoting professional development
• Manage existing client relationships and contribute to business development efforts
• Provide accounting support and client onboarding via QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
• Assist with tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• 3+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax preparation and review
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with both clients and colleagues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
• Familiarity with UltraTax software is a plus but not required

• Salary range of $85,000 – $105,000 based on experience
