JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Salon Stylist

FLSA: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Spa

REPORTS TO: Spa Director /Salon Supervisor

SUMMARY:

To be able to perform a variety of hair services as well as color and styling techniques for guest or clients that exceed the guest’s expectations.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:

• To perform hair; cutting, styling, and color related services.
• To have a full understanding and knowledge of hair products being used and sold - in the salon.
• To sterilize all hair tools and equipment.
• To be able to understand and express in terms relevant to the client the treatment services to be performed.
• To work closely with hair care line representatives to establish and maintain exceptional standards for treatments.
• To maintain an inventory par of professional product.
• To maintain; established set up stations, cleanliness of stations at all times, quality standards.
• To provide an exceptional guest experience and maintain the integrity of the vision of the Salon at Wintergarden.
• To provide each guest with a complete and satisfying experience, leaving him/her refreshed and revitalized
• To perform operational asks when not engaged in treatments, i.e. restocking supplies and linens, removal or retrieval of laundry items, general and specific cleaning and any other task deemed necessary in maintaining the efficiency of salon operations.
• To attend all professional hair care training classes offered by our hair care providers.
• To attend all staff meetings and trainings.
• To sell retail.
• To maintain a regular schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• To remain abreast of current trends and issues. To maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
• To perform other duties as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skill & Abilities in:

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as opening and closing procedures, duties list, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well speak effectively before clients, groups, co-workers and management.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, taxes, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to balance a cash bank.

Reasoning Skills

To perform this job successfully an incumbent must be able to complete each duty and responsibility defined at a level that exceeds management and guest expectations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities sot perform the essential functions.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:

High school diploma OR GED.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):

• Considered applicants will have current VA State license and be able to present upon hire.
• Current, valid Cosmetology license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Ability to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis without assistance
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time·
