Job Overview:
Daniels Tire Service is seeking a reliable and dedicated Tire Delivery/Box Truck Driver to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivery and pick up of new, used, and junk tires. They will deliver from our warehouse to various customer locations, and do pick ups in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This role requires strong driving skills, customer service, and attention to detail to ensure safe delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a box truck (with appropriate class of license) to deliver tires to customers' locations.
- Load and unload tires onto the truck using manual or mechanical methods.
- Ensure accurate delivery of the correct tire sizes and quantities to the designated addresses.
- Ensure accurate Pick Up of the correct tire sizes and quantities as it relates to casings from customers
- Maintain communication with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, pick ups, or any delays or issues.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Assist in the organization of tires in the warehouse and ensure they are properly secured for transport.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring all deliveries are made promptly and courteously.
- Ensure all paperwork, including delivery logs and invoices, are completed accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and safe driving record.
- Work smart and work safely to avoid injuries or accidents
- Assist with other tasks as needed, such as organizing inventory or assisting with unloading tires at the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with the appropriate class for operating a box truck.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role (previous experience with tire deliveries a plus).
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 100+ lbs on a regular basis) and perform physical labor.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in deliveries and paperwork.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent service.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to safely operate a box truck in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
- Ability to load and unload heavy loads
Work Environment:
- The role involves both warehouse and on-the-road work.
- You will be required to drive long distances and work outside in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional overtime may be required based on delivery schedules.
