American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift position in an acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a 31-bed Telemetry unit within an acute care environment
  • Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Required to work 4 weekend shifts within every 4-week schedule rotation
  • Expect to float as first priority, with potential floating to MedSurg units, remote tele, ICU for tele MS hold, or ER holds
  • Primary patient population includes post-pacer, hemodialysis, stepdown from ICU, urology, oncology (with cardiac monitoring), rare ortho, correctional, strokes, TBI, sepsis, high acuity, and patients from nursing homes
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
  • Uses telemetry monitoring equipment (Phillips), and must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • On-call/standby requires reporting within 30 minutes if called in
  • Unit has a shift manager, resource nurse, and nurse aides for support
  • Position expects participation in the permanent staff holiday rotation, including working one major and one minor holiday
  • Navy blue scrubs required, including jackets and undershirts (navy, white, or black permitted)
  • Unit supports a high acuity, fast-paced environment with complex cases
  • Short orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor specific to the unit
  • Travelers cannot have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities in the past year

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry RN experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Must be able to accurately read and interpret all cardiac rhythms
  • Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend requirements
  • Two professional references: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
