Neighbors Bank is seeking an analytical, solutions-oriented Accountant to play a vital role in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning. This hybrid position allows for remote work but also requires commuting to our Columbia, MO office as needed. What You'll Do As an Accountant , you'll support financial operations alongside other leaders within the organization to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide key insights to drive decision-making. Your responsibilities will include: Financial Oversight & Reporting - Maintain the general ledger, oversee monthly and annual financial statements, and ensure timely reporting to leadership. Risk & Asset Management - Partner with leadership to analyze liabilities, investments, capital structure, liquidity, and hedging strategies. Compliance & Regulatory Support - Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for financial functions, including tax planning and reporting. Forecasting & Strategy - Assist in developing financial forecasts and providing key insights to support company growth. Audits & Examinations - Prepare for and participate in financial audits, regulatory exams, and internal reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 2+ years (more preferred) of accounting experience within a regulated financial institution (bank, credit union, etc.) or mortgage originator; or experience auditing a regulated financial institution. Strong grasp of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company. Ability to work in-office as needed (must reside in the state of Missouri). Regular and predictable attendance. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Your Earning Potential in This Role The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 . Where a candidate falls within that range will depend on several factors, including: Depth of industry or bank-specific accounting experience. Leadership experience or demonstrated ownership in previous roles. Relevant certifications, including advanced credentials (e.g., CPA). The overall value the candidate brings to this position and our team. Each candidate's compensation will be evaluated based on the unique combination of experience, qualifications, and the value they bring to the role. Those meeting more advanced criteria may qualify for starting pay at the higher end of this range.
