The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Clinical Research Nurse 2 to work at the UHealth Medical campus in Miami, FL. The Clinical Research Nurse 2 ensures the integrity and quality of clinical research studies are maintained and conducted in accordance with practice guidelines, federal and sponsor regulations, and institutional policies and procedures. Additionally, the Clinical Research Nurse 2 plays a key role in the recruitment of participants and achievement of research objectives. Core job functions include assessing, troubleshooting, and reporting problems with data collection; identifying desired research outcomes and monitoring subjects’ responses; conducting initiation visits and registering patients in clinical studies; performing study data collection and entry; educating staff and subjects about protocols, treatment, possible side effects, and complications; preparing and processing new research proposals and amendments; assisting with study completion, data lock, study closeout, and archiving of study files; completing ongoing checks of clinical data for accuracy; and adhering to University policies and procedures. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a valid Florida RN license, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The Clinical Research Nurse provides overall care with loving kindness, supports patient spiritual beliefs, establishes therapeutic and trusting relationships, and serves as a clinical role model and mentor. Responsibilities also include collaborating with healthcare teams, performing clinical tasks within scope of practice, supporting clinical audits, educating patients and staff, managing rapidly changing situations, and ensuring compliance with clinical trial protocols and regulatory requirements. The position involves working with patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure understanding and scheduling of treatment plans and research activities, administering clinical trial medications, and maintaining a safe working environment.
