Position Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) plays a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based perioperative care. This nurse develops, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans while acting as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience. The OR RN provides education to patients and families, ensures proper use of equipment and technology, and maintains clinical competence in surgical nursing procedures.

 

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of permanent residency (Compact eligible)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
• Completion of AORN’s Periop 101 course (upon hire)
• Prior OR experience preferred

Schedule

• Flexible scheduling across day, evening, or night shifts per departmental needs
• Weekend and holiday rotations required
• Occasional overtime may be expected
